System rescue
Nine weeks from “nobody has the code” to live in production
A financial services client had paid for a management system in full. Eighteen months later it was still not usable, the developer had stopped responding, and nobody in the organisation knew where the source code or the server credentials were.

How it went
- Week 1 — Audit. We traced the hosting account, recovered the source code, and produced a written report: roughly 70% of the intended functionality existed, with three critical security issues and no backups whatsoever.
- Week 2 — Stabilise. Credentials were reset and transferred into the client’s own accounts, the database was backed up on a schedule with tested restores, and the exposed endpoints were closed.
- Weeks 3–9 — Complete. The remaining modules were built to an agreed fixed scope, the system was documented from scratch, and staff were trained over three sessions before go-live.

A distribution business ran on paper order books. Orders were re-typed at head office days later, stock figures were always out of date, and disputes over delivered quantities were routine.

How it went
- Discovery on the road. Our team spent two weeks travelling with sales officers before designing anything. The single most important finding: for large parts of the day, there is no usable network.
- Offline-first by design. The Flutter app holds a full local copy of the catalogue and the officer’s customers, captures orders and proof of delivery signatures offline, and synchronises with conflict resolution when coverage returns.
- Head office in real time. Orders land directly in the inventory system, stock is reserved on capture, and management dashboards update through the day instead of at week’s end.
